On a related note, I must point out that if you

Dear Hasty Gazette,
During a recent visit to Hasty, I decided to stop and
have a chat with city officials about their city, except
I could not find any. Where are the offices located?
Thanks - Shep.
Shep,
I am not surprised you could not find the offices
of city officials. The offices of the Mayor, City
Clerk, Council Members, Maintenance Supervisor,
and other city officials, are open by appointment
only.
Hasty is a city with very different needs than most
cities, and the demanding schedules of the
officials do not allow for an open - door office
policy. This seems to virtually eliminate walk-ins,
whether they are concerned citizens, process
service agents, or bill collectors.
To make an appointment to meet with a city
official, stop by the office during normal office
hours, and ask the secretary on duty to pencil you
in. -ed.

Waite Park Area
dumpsters Damaged
by arson
Friday evening, July 1st, Waite park
Fire Officials were called to a number
of fires inside garbage dumpsters
near apartment buildings.
One set of dumpsters was located inside a vacant
garage, causing that fire to spread to the
structure.
Hasty Mayor, Sid Wealor, declined to comment on
the situation, citing the fact that these fires were
not in Hasty, and he was, therefore, in no way
responsible.
Waite Park is a suburb of Hasty, about 30 miles
northwest.
Steering wheel chatter
car care advice by Annie Bell
This week's letter comes from Mz. Constance Eraball who lives in Bartley,
AZ. Mz. Eraball writes:
Dear Annie,
The AC in my car isn't blowing out much cold air. Everything seems to be working just
fine, but the inside of the car never gets cool. The mechanic at the Wal Mart store here
in town told me it could be the water pump, and wanted over $600.00 to fix it. What do
you think it could be?
Dear Mz. Eraball: It's a really great idea to get these things checked out
early by a good mechanic, to avoid even more trouble later on. But I think
this guy at the Wal Mart might be on the wrong track.
But before doing anything else, there are a few things you can do yourself
to try to figure this out.
Most cars with AC also have AT, AM/FM, CD, PW, PL, PB,PS, PBS, NBC,
BBC, PMS, WD-40, and PTSD. Since this seems to be one complete
system in the car, if any of them are still working, it couldn't be a
breakdown within that system.
My guess is the problem is with that little slidy thing on the dashboard, it
probably isn't moving all the way over to the "COLD" position. Try tapping
on it with a small hammer to get it all the way over to "Cold" . You don't
want to hit it very hard, or it might break off, and then you'll really be in
trouble. If it doesn't move, you may need to get a bigger hammer.
I had the same problem with a Chevy truck a few years ago. We had gone
up north to do some deer hunting and got up there right at midnight. The
little slidy thing on the dashboard was stuck like yours but this time the
heater didn't work. It was so cold out that night I couldn't see my hands
in front of my face.
We were going to build a fire to keep us warm, but couldn't get any really
dry fire wood. Then they decided to pour on a bunch of the charcoal
lighter, but after we threw in the match, we found out someone had refilled
the charcoal lighter can with gasoline. And once the fire got up and going
we could see we had built their camp fire right next to the one and only

Letters to the
editor
To Whom it may Concern:
I was a customer at your store yesterday to buy
a quart of milk. Your clerk, who was very rude
to me, insisted that you do not carry the quart
jugs of skim milk any longer, and told me that I
must buy a half gallon. When I got it home, I
fixed my grandkids a nice breakfast, with those
little marshmallows in the cereal that they like.
There is too much sugar in that cereal, but
that's why I use skim milk. Well, the milk had
gone bad, and the youngest one spit it out, and
I had to pour the whole works down the drain.
Sincerely, Mildred T.
Mildred,
We here at the Hasty Gazette feel that your
letter may have been misdirected. Although
our staff can at times be rude, we do not run a
retail establishment, and certainly do not sell
dairy products of any kind.
However, we do realize that there is no excuse
for poor service, so on behalf of all of us, I
would like to offer you our apologies. We will
try harder in the future to make certain that
