City Maintenance
Crew Makes hasty
decisions
Apparently, Wealor's crew soon doubled to four,
then grew to six, as passers-by stopped to look,
felt sorry for the crew, and stayed to help.

As it turned out, emptying the shed was not
among the major setbacks.  Those would include
getting the truck stuck on two different lawns,
and dumping the shed off of the trailer onto it's
side.

"We just made too many Hasty decisions", said
one of the good Samaritans who stopped by to
help.  The Gazette found out later that she had no
knowledge of the City of Hasty, or it's past
projects, and actually meant "hasty", which, as it
turns out, means something totally different.
A recent project for the City
maintenance crew wound up over time,
over budget, and over turned, and the
only reasonable explanation seemed to
be that there were too many "Hasty
decisions".
Due to budget cuts at Federal, State,
Local, and everyone’s personal level,
the Hasty Gazette will be restructuring
the way it mails out issues. Please

last issue for complete details
The day started out as good as any in Hasty, MN.  It
was dark and rainy, and there was no chance the
sun would come out.  "I should have just gone back
to bed", said Mayor Wealor.

The plan for the city crew that Saturday was to move
a Maintenance shed 20 or 30 miles, depending on
which detour they picked. It was a small project,
with a small crew, and a smaller budget.  No
budget, actually.  This project was a deficit from the
start.

"My guy made the call about 11am," said Wealor,
speaking of the only other crew member working
this project.  "He verified that the shed was up in
the air and ready to go. We got there about an hour
later, after a beer or two, you know, it's Saturday,
and the shed was still full of tricycles, old TVs,  and
those, ya know, pink plastic lawn bird things with
one foot."
The property crime rate in Hasty has
already doubled from where it was in
2004, and we still have six months to
go.
"I went to the window to spy on the neighbors, and
noticed my garage was open", explained the victim
of the most recent break-in. "I don't have a very
nice car, so there would be no reason for me to go
in there.  I don't know who was in there, but they
took some of my best stuff out."
As it turns out, the
thief took a large
amount of items, but
slowly tossed aside
the less desirable
items as he or she
made the getaway.
This was evident by
the trail of old
newspapers, shoes,
broken fans, and
storm window
hardware leading
away from the victims
property.

"I only wish he took
more crap this time",
said the acting Police
Chief.  "If he hadn't
run out, he woulda
led us right to his
door."

This case is eerily
similar to one last
